Every page has it's obligatory "about" section, so of course, why should this be any different?

I'm a 27 year old girl, originally from Massachusetts, but have been in the Bay Area of California for nearly seven years. I started reading when I was 3, my first book being Sylvester and the Magic Pebble. Story goes, my aunt gave me the book as a present, my mom said she'd read it to me after she made her coffee. She's in the kitchen and hears me talking, comes running out to the living room, discovers I'm reading the book out loud. She's all excited, going "you're reading!" and I tell her, "I know," looking annoyed because she interrupted. :)

Fantasy is my favorite genre of books, although in the past I was into the true crime/mystery stuff, until it started to give me nightmares. *shrug* I read Mists of Avalon six years ago and have been hooked on fantasy ever since.

Arthurian, fairy tale retellings, historical fiction, high fantasy - that's what fills my bookshelves.

Favorite books include:
The Mists of Avalon - Marion Zimmer Bradley
The Memoirs of Cleopatra - Margaret George
White as Snow - Tanith Lee
Woman with the Alabaster Jar - Margaret Starbird
The Dark Jewels Trilogy - Anne Bishop
Forests of the Heart - Charles de Lint
The Onion Girl - Charles de Lint
The Moon Under Her Feet - Clysta Kinstler
The Mercy of Thin Air - Ronlyn Domingue

The GoodReads link at the top of each page will take you to the entire list of books that I've read, not just what I own. I hit 105 books last year, and that's something I'm quite proud of. :)
