Chemist Sentenced to 20 Years for Murder

The Egyptian chemist who was convicted of several murders of women in Juárez was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a 1995 homicide Tuesday afternoon in Chihuahua City, state prosecutors said.
Judge Héctor Talamantes Abe handed down the sentence to Abdel Latif Sharif Sharif, who was in prison because of other cases pending against him.
It wasn't clear Tuesday who was the victim in the 1995 homicide. Sharif could receive up to 50 years in prison from the other pending cases, prosecutors said.
